Animal tracking

Innovative techniques to follow animals on their daily routes open a new window on the spatial movement patterns of animals, their migration routes and the location of their foraging areas. With this information, we are much better equipped to identify ecological hotspots and bottlenecks. For example mapping flight paths of birds in and near wind farms may supports an optimal spatial design. Also the staging areas and migration paths of birds to and from Africa may be unravelled in this way. We conduct these studies for various species and support in the preparation of research plans, data collection and analyses.
