In order to assess the type and extent of ecological effects (habitat loss, disturbance etc.) of interventions in ecosystems, and whether they can lead to the decline of populations or loss of species, specific expertise and sometimes dedicated field research is required. Our ecologists carry out such research, either as standalone projects or as part of a larger Environmental and Social Impact Assessment (ESIA). We can also support in determining what kind of knowledge and what data are needed to assess ecological impacts, from baseline studies to impact analysis .
