The protection of Natura 2000 areas under the EU Birds and Habitat Framework Directory is regulated in national law. In the case of new spatial developments, a quick scan may indicate the risk of significant effects on Natura 2000 areas. If so, an appropriate assessment is required, which will identify impact and feasible mitigating measures in detail. A&W is experienced in performing appropriate assessments.
